Between The Lines – April 2023
In this issue of our Permanent Makeup Newsletter, we focus on all things to do with Colour Boosts
When is the right time to get my colour boost?
This is dependant on many factors.
HAIRSTROKE/COMBINATION EYEBROWS
For a natural Hairstroke or Combination Eyebrow we recommend an annual colour boost. This is because hairstrokes don’t last as long as a shaded/Ombre Powder. Especially if for example a soft blonde colour has been used. So an annual boost to keep those strokes looking crisp and defined is recommended.
STRONG COMBINATION EYEBROWS
For a strong Combination Eyebrow 12-18 months is our usual recommendation. Darker colours implanted more densely stay longer in the skin. This is unless you have an oily skin type. Then an annual boost would be our recommendation. Those with an oily skin type will shed colour far quicker.
OMBRE POWDER BROWS
For Ombre Powder Brow we recommend a 18 months to 2 year boost. Shading lasts far longer in the skin. So you will be able to have less frequent boosts.
LIP AND EYELINER ENHANCEMENTS
For Lips and eyeliners, 18 months to 2 years is the recommendation. As darker molecules used in liner last longer. And mucosa tissue of the lips will hold onto pigment super well.
These are all guidelines. You know your face the best. When you start to reach for that pencil again, you know its time. At the same time, if you don’t feel like they need boosting, and are still happy with them, don’t have a boost done for the sake of it.
If you are unsure, you can always take a picture, in good lighting, no makeup on the area in question and send it via WhatsApp to 07961 347882 where our artists will access the image and come back to you with their expert advice.
What happens if I go over the 2 year time period?
Over 2 years would be treated as a new treatment. This is due to the length of time and fade, we would need to see you twice again to get your enhancement back on track. You will receive £50 off the full new treatment price as a returning treatment.
How far in advance should I plan and book my boost?
Our artists are in high demand. Some getting booked out 3 months or so in advance. So it is best to plan your boost well. You can always make a booking, and as the time draws closer, delay the boost if you feel like it doesn’t quite need it yet.
How much does a colour boost cost?
This is dependant on the length of time since your last treatment, as this will reflect on the amount of work needed to boost the work.
Here are our current colour boost prices.
